Photo of an Agaric mushroom. I did not take this photo but Agaric mushrooms are native to Maine and can be found on campus. “A solid log becomes soil, a lump of dough rises into bread, a mushroom erupts overnight, sprouting bright beautiful colors-but how?” The quote made me think of this picture a lot as it amazes me how Agaric mushrooms are able to bloom bright blooming colors in a matter of days. It’s also amazing how something so colorful can sick up in such a bland ecosystem.
