Introduction:

• I understand the toughness of school
• Requires patience and commitment
• I touch base on my academic struggles
• Simple strategies that support me

Body Paragraph #1:

• I talk about my struggle paying attention in class occasionally
• Some of this issue stems from boredom or lack of focus
• List examples of keeping focus as strategies
• Main idea is getting more involved
• Contributing to class is always good!!

Body Paragraph #2:

• Talk about occasionally missing assignments(second issue)
• This is an issue that creeps up on you
• Key word is organization for solution
• Best forms are calendar or planner
• Allows me to use planner as visual***
• Helps you retain knowledge and helps with homework

Conclusion:

• Make connection with audience about academic struggles
• Address academic issues discussed before
• Touch base on solutions and how they affect us
• Address professional self and why academic is more important
• The improvement of our academics is up to us!!!!!

Notes

• Speech is too focused on my personal struggles, could use more explanation of solutions to these issues
• Make connections between personal struggle and academic struggles of the audience
• Speech is too tight, make it more personable and talk more directly, ask questions, add humor
• Allow gaps between sentences for pauses, gives more chances to look at audience
• Less ongoing sentences, tighten up lines and make some shorter
• Introduction needs more character, is a bit dull
