Connecting The Parts

A similar story would be Adrian Chen’s “Unfollow” about a young woman fueled by blind rage able to amplify her hate virtually. She eventually is persuaded into a better and more diverse way of thinking by the very people who contradicted her values. What can be taken from the articles are both the benefits and setbacks that can come from virtual interaction. That being said, there is far from enough information to determine for sure whether social media is a productive or counterproductive form of communication. The limits of the virtual world are yet to be completely tested as the convenience of media is still relatively new. With all these new emerging sites, we have already been able to collect data on what good and bad social media can bring. Konnikova states, “It’s quite conceivable that we might end up less social in the future, which would be a disaster because we need to be more social—our world has become so large” (Konnikova 2). The number gives an insight into the idea of what a real friend is and how media platforms like Instagram or Twitter could have a counterproductive response to interpretation of relationships.

It made it easier as I was to identify my strong argumentative points so that I could strengthen the reasoning behind them. I also found I was repeating a few transition phrases. I was able to diversify them which made my essay sound smoother overall. Identifying my key terms helped me better understand the main point of my argument and gave a lot of clarity.
